Lügn Esthetics is the creation of Madison Malmstrom, a licensed esthetician, educator, and holistic wellness practitioner with over 15 years of experience in integrative skincare and somatic healing. Her unique approach is rooted in science, soul, and nervous system awareness—offering clients transformative care that nurtures both beauty and wellbeing.

Maddie, what-the-french-toast is lug-n? lung? loogen?

The quick answer? Lügn (pronounced ‘loon’) is a Swedish word for calm, tranquil, or serene.

On its face, Lügn was a fitting choice for my business, not only because I come from a long line of Scandinavian folk, but also because I wanted my spa to be a place where clients could come to slow down, breathe deep, and incorporate rituals and routines into their life that nourished them on every level.

Beyond the Surface

(as with everything I do here, there’s more to it if you dig deeper)

Around the time I was trying to choose a name for my business, my late father was in the end stages of his many years battling terminal cancer. My parents lived on a little lake and have always loved the loons that nest there. In the early mornings and around sunset, you can hear their calls and look out onto the lake and be filled with this amazing calm that reminds you to breathe and let go.

The last few weeks of my dad's life, he would tell me to listen for the call of the loons after he's gone and know that it’s him saying, "hello". I wanted to capture that calm, that love, and the gratitude my Dad carried for life into my space and pay that kind of energy forward. 

So, when I came across the word Lügn', I knew I’d found a name that embodied the depth and breadth of what I wanted to accomplish with my new venture.

And here we are now, together.
